Affordable Homeowner Insurance Quote

Getting an affordable homeowner insurance quote can be incredibly simple. Some people tend to make the whole task a little trickier than it needs to be, but in truth, you can get an affordable, reasonable quote in an hour’s time, or even less. You just need to do two things…

Decide What Kind of Insurance You Need

How much coverage do you want? If you want minimal coverage, say, liability and disaster coverage, and not much else, then getting a low price isn’t so hard at all. On the other hand, if you want full coverage, if you want everything from home contents to disaster to theft to liability and home based business insurance, then you’re going to have to shop around a bit. But regardless, in any event, it’s important that you know what you want before you bother looking for a quote.

What you might want to do is write a list that will be your “ideal” insurance package, and then go through it and cross out anything you can live without. That will be your “bare minimum” insurance package. Then take these two lists and…

Shop Through an Agency

When you shop through an insurance agency, you wind up getting a better deal, period.

Not to mention, you save a ton of time. Does anybody really want to spend a day and a half, or longer, going to every single major insurer’s website and looking through their individual quotes? Of course not. An insurance agency is there to do that for you, so why bother doing it yourself under any circumstance whatsoever? There’s really no reason to, no reason at all.

Furthermore, they can gather up more quotes than you possibly could on your own, anyways, and from insurers you might never have heard of. Sometimes, the lesser known insurance company is the one to go with, since they don’t have the steep overhead (and expensive advertising campaigns) of the big name companies.

So use an insurance agency. They take their cut from the insurer’s end anyways, so it doesn’t cost you a dime.

Beyond the above, just make sure that you’re being realistic. Maybe you can get away with not buying earthquake coverage if you live in New Mexico, but living in Florida and not having hurricane coverage is pretty risky. Don’t cut corners, rather, buy the insurance that you know you need, at the very least, and then shop for a deal on it.
